A View from the Grass

Hidden among the leaves, a wolf spider (family Lycosidae) remains almost invisible until it pauses. Its eight eyes, arranged on several levels, carefully track every movement around it. At this magnification, a world only a few millimetres across reveals a remarkable level of complexity.
