Kokinohoma Abyss
Kokinohoma overturns the usual sense of movement through a cave. The route does not unfold ahead but drops vertically, while the surface contracts to a distant opening and scale is measured in height rather than distance.
Beyond the frame
In vertical caves, gravity shapes both exploration and the void itself. Water, falling rock, and sediment repeatedly follow the same downward paths, enlarging fractures over time and developing them into deep karst shafts.
